Call for Application-EAWHRDs Network

The Eastern African Women Human Rights Defenders Network is pleased to call for applications for Women Human Rights Defenders from Countries of Djibouti, Eritrea, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Sudan to join as members of the Network.

ABOUT THE NETWORK The Network was established in 2017 and its secretariat currently hosted by Coalition for Women Human Rights Defenders Tanzania. The Network is currently composed of members from Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia/Somaliland, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. The mission of the Network is to promote and protect Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs), women’s rights and gender equality in Eastern Africa of the Network is to have an East Africa and the main objective of the Network is to strengthen the capacities of Women Human Rights Defenders in the region to effectively engage on specific gender issues and advocate for advancement of women human rights and gender equality at the local, national and regional level through capacity building trainings, sharing of experiences, challenges, ideas and best practices.
