In commemoration of Women Human Rights Defenders' Day on 29 Nov 2020, Coalition for Women and Human Rights Defenders in partnership with the Legal and Human Rights Center and the Women Fund Tanzania jointly organized and awards for women human rights champions in Tanzania. Winners of the awards include Dr Vincesia School who has become a human rights activist in terms of sexual corruption in higher learning instutions. Dr Vincesia was the only woman to raised a poster in front of the president of the United Republic of Tanzania highlighting the rampant sexual corruption in University of Dar es Salaam.

The second award went to Rose Njiro, an activist for the rights of Maasai girls and women in Ngorongoro. In a patriarchy society, Rose is the only woman who fights for girls' rights to go to school, women's rights to own land and equality in her community.

The third prize went to Salome Kitomali, a female journalist who writes articles defending women's rights in Tanzanian society. Salome is an IPPT Media correspondent in her articles aimed at protecting women economically, socially and medically.
